That's what I run here in AZ which is Chevron super premium at 91 octane. That's what the owners manual says so no big deal. No reason to run any higher octane even if it were available here in the Phoenix area.
I use the highest octane I can find, 91 or better. I am very picky about that, if I see the fuel truck at the station I always go to the next one just because when they fill the underground tanks it stirs everything up and I don't want the crap from the bottom in my bike. I run 93 only because I do not have an owner's manual there fore I did not know what HD recommends. Every oil change I run a tank with lucas treatment. If the manual says 91 put at least 91 in it.
Agree with you on this one, I bypass also. I also prefer to use stations that have individual hoses for the different grades. That way I'm not getting a quart of 87 octone.
