Default Jump Start

Re 06 RG jump start.
If I am on the road andmy battery fails to kick over the engine can I jump start it by connecting the Battery Tender Jr. pig tails (already attached to my battery) to the, included in package, alligator clips plug, into the pig tails plug and then clip on to another battery?
Thanks

I don't have a battery tender yet but I'm betting the leads are way to small for jumpstarting. The battery tender is designed to TRICKLE charge the battery(low amperage. The starter on your bike takes more amperage then all other electrical items combined.

Put jumper cable hot lead on battery and ground anywhere on frame. Like was said tender leads way too small.

Page E 74 07 owners manual statesonly to connect (+) to your battery and (-) to ground on frameor you could blow your battery up and cover your pride and joy in battery acid

Yes, you can use the leads BUT not to crank it over. If you connect to a car battery through them, you can charge your battery that way but don't try to crank it for a while (10 minutes or more) and disconnect the leads before cranking it.

The trickle charger circuit is usually fused so make sure the fuse isn'tin the pigtail on the bike or it will get blown out and you do nothing for the battery charge then if it was too low to start with.
