So here is my question. Between the two above. HP is different, TQ is similar. What is the difference in riding? Is it mainly going to be on top due to HP difference?
I did not mean to hijack Rahalls thread, just trying to answer questions. But I can only speak on mine as it was, as a stock 08. There is 10HP and 6lbs of torque between my bike and Rahlows. The main difference is hecurrentlyretains the stock cam, and I have a cam ground for improvedMid Range. It would be noticeable if you rode each of our bikes probably more on the upper end. (I am hoping ****** will describe how his is now in comparison from stock, and now with his pipes and tuner. If you look at his curve his Torque and horspower start dropping farly linearafter 4000 RPM. My HP starts todownward at5600RPM my strong torque starts to head down at 4500RPM but I still have 90ft lbs at 5200 RPM.
In the case of mine from stock, from 2400-5000 nowthere is a serious freight train likepull compared stock. It feels real linear from 2400 up and stock below that. You can definatelyfeel the cams go to work when you hitthat 2400 RPM. I can only saythese small changes is majorhuge performance improvement in the seatfrom bone stock on this 96 in my opinion! Best of all it makes good power and I know it will stillbe reliable. After all were not drag racing these things. I was just looking for some good loaded down up hill grunt with the wife on the back and I got it!
Donnylee I have the same Cam and i am still trying to get it dialed in, do you have or can you get a copy of your Tuner Settings
Will do when I get home....currently out of town....I am not that familiar with the software....Have not even looked at it....So you might need to tell me what file Ext.your after.
Donny - Did they give you a CD of the MAP they loaded into your ECM? You can't retrieve information from the bike with a SERT. If they didn't give you a CD, ask them for it. Once you get it, save it on your computer. Then open your Tuning Mode software from the SERT CD. This will then allow you to open the MAP they gave you and you can look at everything they did and make changes if you ever felt the need. It's pretty simple. Give me a shout when you get back if you still need some help.
At this point it appears negatively, first reason its realfun to feel that power now, and I notice I am revving between shiftsa bit more agressively then before....But there sofar has beennoticeable gasguage dropping, quite a bit sooner then it was. Until I get in some long road riding I cannot pin that down just yet. I rode it up to Mount Hood the first day I got it back and was not measuring mileage.
It was doing roughly 43 MPG stock. When I get some real long distanceroad miles with this new setup I will let you know.
