I just got back from getting IDS installed at local stealership. I thought all ya'll were full of chit. I really makes a great difference. It takes away tons of engine noice and vibration. It is now a pleasure to ride. Also the $100.00 elbow grease deal took care of all the labor charges. I had a 20% off coupon and a 25.00 gift certificate, so it only cost me 238.00 for the sysatem. That's the best 238.00 I've ever spent. Thanks to all for putting me on to this......Bldr
Just picked mine up minutes ago. Was billed $14 for labor after the elbow grease deal. I actually purchased the IDS from the dealer at 10% off. The whole job came to $300. I picked the part up Sunday and dropped the bike off Monday night with the part. Not sure now if I could have bought the part anywhere and brought it in or if they saw the store sticker on the box. Anyway only rode from the dealer back to work (4 miles) in traffic soI can't tell any difference yet.
Don't feel bad, most of the people here that say IDS is a bunch of crap has not tried it yet either. Glad you seen the light, best money you can spend in my opinion!!!
I just installed mine Sunday. I bought it from Zanotti's based on posts here. Took about 2 hours to install, no drama. It makes a big difference with the small power pulses and is real smooth in first five gears. I never had any of the issues others report with my EGC (gear whine, clatter) but I was hoping for better 6th gear vibration at 65. At just about any speedthe first five are noticably smoother, buttery comes to mind. 6th however is only marginally improved on mine at 65. $217 and two hours well spent.
Had the IDS installed in my 07 SE Ultra with the 110" Motor. I was not having any problems with my trany, but now the bike feels much better.. A big change. She is so smooth. No vibration in the handlebars. I has to be much better for the bike. You can just tell that this part was designed for the bike. I would recommend this to every 07 owner. It is too bad they don't offer one for the pre 07 models. Maybe someday. It would save all the fairing brackets that vibrate apart.
If you have vibration at 65mph in 6th gear (everyone has a different definition of vibration) you might want to look for another source. Check the tension on the belt. It might be loose. Just a suggestion.
I thought 6th gear was vastly improved. I can now throttle up at 60 mph and it don't pulse and vibrate like it used to. Cruise set at 75 feels like I am on a Goldwing now. I used to get so much vibration that it hurt my chest and arms. Bldr

Do a good Stage 1 and you'll be happier. Adds power and widens the rpm "happy" range just enough to make cruising along at 65 a real pleasure. 75 even more so!!
