I just got done putting on my Road Glide lowers and Ultra King Tour Pak. (yea, yea, pics will be up soon!!) The problem I have is I now experience a front end wobble at 35, 40, 45 and 50 MPH. Could this be due to the wind deflection of the lowers or might this just be coincidental timing and be a front end problem like others that have had front end wobble. I just had my 1K service done and the tech felt it as well. He tightened up the bolts and added grease but when I left I still had the wobble. I told them I would let them know if I still have it. Well I do. They said if I still experience the wobble they would dig deeper and check tire balance and other possibilities. My main question is have any other RGers experience wobble after adding the fairing lowers? Have any others had the front end wobble and find out what it was? Pics of the FLTRU to come soon.
I put the lowers on my 06 and found that I had a smoother ride with less buffetting. I rode a year without them and as soon as I put them on i kicked myself for not doing it sooner.
I experienced a wobble on my SG on windy days when traveling at highway speeds. I thought my steering head may have been loose so I had the dealer check it. They said it wasn't loose but instead, it was too tight. They loosened up a bit and now the front end is a steady as can be.
Man I have had this since day one I believe....as I only had the bike a month...then switched out the Bars to 10 in apes and Hog pro 18"wheels.....after doing that on the way home I had taken my hands off and WOW wobbled like crazy...took it back they checked everything we even switched out the mezt tires for avons. Still thier , I even checked the steering head bolt and tried couple things with it nothin....all this happens between 35 to 45...but if I put my hand so slightly on the grip...gone.....other wise the bike rides like a dream.....I am not really sure what goin on .....I have ked myself to believe the rms at those speeds are high and engine is producing a force that is being thrown forward and the front end is picking up these vibrations....dealer was no help to me on this and others want nothin to due with it...I have done 3 major trips this year and no pr obs........mind baffling!
Well in my case that has been done over and over along with fall out, cupping ...remeber we switched 2 set of new tires...whhel truing balnacing...pads rubbing.....nothin......
