baffle question
confused. i see where several of teh slip on makers offer several diff baffles. EX: 1.75 or 2.5 , which is the loudest??? the smaller or larger # ?? dose this # indicate how big around it is or how long????
The larger the number the louder they sound.... basically the number indicates how much free flow area there is if that makes any sense.. so a 1.5 would have baffles covering the inside of the pipe except for 1.5 inches of it. a 2.5 would have baffles covering all except for 2.5 inches of it... therefore the 2.5 would have more free flowing, therefore louder..understand?? if the pipe is 3 inches in dia. and 2.5 was free flowing it only really has .5 inches of baffle around the pipe
