I have the SE 2-1 exhaust. My question is, does anyone know of any mods to the baffles to make them loader? Or is there a place to buy different baffles that will fit? I know that the V&H baffles won't fit. I was told to straighten out the small pipe in the baffle, but it wont straighten. Maybe I should have heated it up. I was afraid to ruin the pipe and then be up the creek. Would cutting out the pipe work?
as no one else seems to have this pipe i'll try to explain what i did to mine. took the baffle out to see what it looked like, to my suprise, it looks very restricted. also i noticed that the packing stayed in muffler when i pulled the baffle out. after looking it over i noticed the inlet end of the pipe part of the baffle was loose where it was spot welded to the perferated part of the baffle. so i was able to wiggle it back and forth a little until the one weld that was holding it broke.all i wanted to do was make it less restrictive as it looks like the collector then tapers down to that little pipe that is kind of flattened on the end. my thoughts were if i drilled some holes in that tube, kind of like the perferated part of the baffle that the exhaust would be able to flow better.
anyway, i then put the baffle back together using pop rivets and re-packedit with new packing.
results, queit at idle
somewhat louder at cruise speed
has a real good sound when on it but pretty loud
I have SE II slip ons and replaced the baffles with Thunder Monsters from BCT. I'm sold! Not sure what they have for 2 in 1's. You can call them 704-366-8672
i think if you removed those little pipes it would flow much better but i think it would also be much louder. keep us posted on what you do with it and the results. maybe if you cuold post a photo of the baffle on here, somebody may have an idea what can be done. if they didn't see one of these baffles before, i think they would be very surprised to see how it works. i know i was very suprised when i first saw it.
thanks, lou
I was told that I can't get the baffles for the se 2-1 anymore. Since they aren't made anymore. So, if I mess these up I am screwed. Will leave them the way they are for now. Till I can get a set of baffles that will fit.
im pretty sure the SE 2-1 is the same as the older V&H 2-1 pipe. if all u want is louder just take out the packing. my buddy purchased a new SE 2-1 and it looked identical to a V&H, he completely removed the baffle and just stuck the end cap back in. so it looks the same but is MUCH louder. too loud for my taste.
