I regularly ride with two buddies that wished they had spent the little extra an gone for the Ultra. I know two more that didn't also but they won't admit their mistake.
Going with the Classic is not a mistake if that is what you want. Personal I don't like a lot of the stuff they throw on the Ultra.

The tour pack on the Ultra has a liner in it.

If you dont need the things on an ultra dont get it. If you do its easier to takem off then add'em later.

I Added lowers/cruise and Ive never looked back.

I had my mind set on buying used and I was looking for an Ultra or a Classic. I found a couple of Ultras for sale but the value of them had somehow gone up since they bought them. I think they are still for sale today. I found a nice low mile 06 Classic for the right price and with the money saved I added vented lowers, cruise and a gps. You may want to consider a late model used bike if you want to save some cash. Of course if money doesnt matter buy new then. Btw dont buy the ultra because someone says its a cool factor. Did you really buy your ultra to be cool? Sorry to hear that. Not many people look at the two bikes and can tell the difference. Some of the people that are bikers can but the general public probably not.

Ah yes, that was it. I thought I remembered something on this forum about those (the soft bag cases).

Comes with a little flip open book to slide your owners manual in, saddle and tour pack bags, tour pack hard liner, 1 intercom headset, tour pack says HD on the back.

Maybe a larger altenator, not sure on this one.

Excuse my ignorance but I've been on the MOCO's website and I'm not sure I found all the answers I'm looking for. So, if you folks don't mind, could I bother you for some quick info?

I'm looking at purchasing my first Hog and was wondering what the differences are between the UltraClassic and the Classic? I'm aware of the lowers, cruise control, CB, intercom, additional speakers, and tour pak lighting. What else am I missing? Thanks ahead of time.

Oh yeh it cost more. Dont be shy man and fear not what the others say were all rite. $2000.00 more huh??????? [sm=bling.gif]I can take parts off if I think I would look cool if the bike had another look. Oh now wait I am cool on my 07 Ultra.

Relli and peppa:

Well, I guess we think alike because that's kinda what I'm thinking. I don't want the lowers and the CB and intercom would simply go unused. If I like the tour pak lighting, I'll add that. Since I don't have tons of extra cash laying around, I think I'll save the $2000 and get the Classic. Thanks for the replies.
