Default Helmets, Full that slip up

Been looking for a full face helmet, the kind where the front lower section flips up. Any ideas as to which name brand and style are the best?

it's call a modular helmet---I have a HD Modular---love it, it took about a month to get use to it---I always wore non - DOT before--will not leave the house with-out the modular---everyone around here says that HJC makes the HD Helment --- it's a quality peice youmay also want to check out Nolan helmets--tried one on very comfortable. quote]ORIGINAL: Joe Mark

I have an HJC flip front that I find is a litttle heavy on a long ride. I seems to me that the Aria helmets are a little lighter and I think a little better looking, especially with the front flipped up as a visor. Hope this helps.

I have the Nolan N-102 modular helmet. It is very comfortable and the design resists any buffeting you may encounter.

Shoei makes a flip up, and their helmets are very good quality.

Good feedback so far, thanks. I don't care about the "Dork Factor". Riding at 0230 in the cold is a factor, riding in the rain is a factor and going down is a huge factor. I just want quality, quality, quality. Anyone wants to laugh at me: Go right ahead and laugh. I'm too old to care and by God I'll be warmer, drier and safer than the ones that laugh!

Wife and I both use Nolan N102s with Teamset Intercom and a Zumo 550 grouped together. Comfortable enough but have found that we had to order the next size up from our other helmets. The N102s seemed to run on the small side. See if you can try one on before you buy.

If you're mostly looking for quality I would look at Shoei or Arai, but I would recommend finding a place to try them on, I couldn't get a good fit with either.....they are pricy. I ended up getting a Z1R at my dealership, DOT approved, very good price, and the best fit of any I tried. The wife won't get on the bike with hers on....she got tired of the wind in her face.

I'd consider Nolan or Shoei.
