I just registered today and am getting ready to get either a Street Glide or Electra Glide Classic and had a question. I would really like to have a certain color bike that isn't available from the standard HD colors. Is it possible to special order a bike with a certain color? I really want the yellow color that was available on the fat boy a couple years ago. I'm still on the fence on whetehr I'll go street blide or electra glide but I am leaning towards a street glide. Also is it possible to order the bike from the factory with the big bore kit or does it have to be dealer installed? I've got a piece of property for sale and once it sells I'm gonna get it ordered. Looking forward to getting back on a Harley......I've had a wide glide and a fat boy in the past(not to mention probably 15-20 Jap bikes that spanned from crotch rockets to goldwings and currently have a suzuki vstrom 1000 adventure bike). Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
The short answer is.... "it depends". The Harley-Davidson website and the current Parts & Accessories Catalog shows several examples of custom paint available from the factory. I suppose that your dealer would be a good source of information on the details of this program.
Big bore kits only come in 2 flavors! 1. You buy a regular bike and have the dealer install a big bore kit or 2. you buy a screaming eagle bike. These are the only ways to get a 107. Due to your situation you will be cheaper to go with option 1!
With regards to you color question I have been wondering the same! I'm going to Harley on Monday...I'll repost you with the answer to your question.

Unfortunately your info is incorrect. A SE bike has a 110" engine, stock is 96". From the factory that is your only two choices. As far as color, HD will only ship in the available colors or custom paint sets.
Big bore kits come in many different versions, starting with a 96 " you can go to 103 with just boring the stock cyls, 107 by replacing the stock cyls, 110" by boring the cases and using big bore cyls, 113, again by boring the cases and going with bigger bore cyls, then the sky is the limit with longer throw cranks and different bore cyls, all aftermarket items. DON'T jump into an engine build, there are so many versions and different cams heads, etc. Do your research, read a lot, continue to ask questions on this forum. Easy to get lead down a path that will cost you money and not give you good returns for the money spent.
Although Harley has "custom colours", you can't order a solid colour that isn't available on the website (or catalogue). So if it doesn't list yellow, then you can't just ask them to paint one for you. Besides, with what Harley charges for their custom paint schemes, it would be cheaper to take the tins to a body shop and have them paint it whatever colour you want.
I wouldn't consider the SE bikes because you end up nice looking bike with a little more torque/hp than stock, not worth the money. Unfortunately for us the consumer, you can't order a HD with options as you suggest. To be able to do that would go against HD marketing stradegy of making you pay twice for the options you really want.
Your options with a HD are to buy vivid black, have it painted, and add the big bore kit while the paint work is being done, or,
Spend 5-10k more than the SE and buy a custom built bagger from company like FBI. I know the custom bikes are expensive but in long run they save you a bundle of money.
Good luck,
I agree with gunner I got a friend with a 07 SE Roadking on the dyno its only like 95HP stock i think that is way to low for a bike with a 110inch motor that cost 30grand. Get a 96 incher do the pipes, sert, aircleaner, bigbore 103 maybe some cams and you will save thousands and blow a SE bike away.
Order the bike in whatever background color you like best. Harley will not custom paint a bike for you and their color paint schemes areexpensive. Go custom paint and expect to pay $3,000 to $4,500+-. You could also find a new set on eBay for a lot less.
Add the motor upgrade after you break the bike in. Don't pay the extra that Harley wants for the SE, you can do better by adding one of the upgrade kits w/cams,havethe heads ported and polished and add a set of Bassani or Bub/Rhinehartheaders. However be aware that some of these upgrades could void your warranty and the best parts are not Harley. So, if it were me I'd either buy a sweet used bike and go aftermarket upgrades or buy new and settle for less power.
