According to that other thread, the cruise is non-functional.

It is seems to be running fine. The cruise is failing intermittently though. And my guess is that is what the code is but not sure? I hate to ride it until I know for sure. And I hate to ride it to the dealership 20-30 miles until they can tell me if I am going to make matters worse, if it is something other than the cruise control.

Yes, It is still under warranty. But, my luck would be.....
Harley Dealer says to me "You messed something up while installing aftermarket parts therefore you voided the warranty on XYZ part and by continuing to ride this motorcycle with the check engine light on you have caused more damage to ABC part which is not under warranty now"

That is my only concern! Your thoughts?

The P0577 is reference to a problem in cruise control curcuit. If you may have added anything in the rt/side handle bar such as hand warmers. It could be as simple as a loose connection at your ECU or a wire at the cruise control resume switch. If your going to do it yourself, which I don't advise I would start at the main computer and make sure the plug is secure. Your kind of flying blind with out the curcuit info. It's and 08 take it back to the dealer, would be my advise.

I too had PO 577. Dealer traced it to a pinched wire in the fairing.

I just cleared the code tonight myself since the dealer did not.

Hi All,

Took bike back to shop on Friday. The techs re-traced the problem to the cruise control switch. Once it was replaced, everything was back to 100%.

Hats off to the techs there, they never gave up and got to the bottom of this.

I have an '08 RoadGlide as well and the set/resume switch went out on mine. I think this must be pretty common on the '08s. They seemed to know right where to go. It is fine for now with no codes. Ken
