Default Stainless Steel Vs. Diamond Back Control Cables

Going to install new handlebars on my 97 Road King and was planning on going with stainless steel control cables until I saw the diamond back cables. I knowthe vinyl sleeves on the stainless cables will yellow in time, but read that the diamnod back have non yellowing vinyl sleeves; would appreciate hearing pros & cons on both types or anycomments from those of you that have installed them.

I had the Diamondbacks on my '07 Road King for about a year and they stayed bright and clear (probably not a sufficient long-term test, though!). My only complaint would be that the plastic coating is somewhat fragile and stiff. If I routed the cables with a little too much curve, the coating wanted to bunch up; not a real big deal in my case, but it makes me think you would want to be careful during installation. I like the bright silver finish of the Diamondbacks.

I agree on the fragility of the DB outer material. My cables, clutch one in particular, are in poor condition after about one year. From what I've read and seen, consider Barnett cables in place of H-D ones. From riders with whom I've discussed cables, Barnett cables are the most durable. The outer material on the D-B cables cracks and that crack then lets dirty and oil in, leaving a black area on the cable.
