I know this has been posted before but can't tell if its been resolved. Has HD come up with a solution for chrome controls (kit) for a '07 FLHRC w/cruise? Or should I buy one of the kits that they already have and purchase something else for the cruise controls? Pretty confused on this one. Thanks.
If you are looking for chrome switch housings, this should work according the HD's website fitment information:
70228-96C Touring Models
Fits '96-later FLHTCU/I and FLTCU models, '98-later FLTR/I models and '02-later FLHRCI models. Also fits '02-later FLHR/I models equipped with Cruise Control Kit P/N 77183-02. Will fit '02-later FLHT/C/I models equipped with Cruise Control Kit P/N 77182-02 with additional purchase of Lower Left Hand Housing P/N 71611-96.
MSRP US $139.95
I'm confused with what you are looking for ..... HD has always had chrome switch housings, reservoirs, levers etc. to chrome out your handlebars no matter what year. Your RKC already has cruise so all you need is the chrome doo-dahs, go see your dealer they will have everything you need and then some !!!
Peppa, Yea you're right except HD has 3 kits that include everything you need to chrome your controls except for grips. But if you read about them closely you'll notice that they don't include the cruise control housings that are standard on the RKC. There's one that says its for the FLHR but the pic shows that its the clutch & brake housing but no cruise switches etc. I'm trying to find the right p/n's so I can order over the internet and not end up sending the stuff back because its the wrong parts.
OK here's what you need:
Chrome clutch bracket & master cylinder reservoir kit # 46418-05A fits 05-07 touring
Chrome switch housing kit # 70228-96C fits 96 & later FLHRCI
Chrome switch cap kit # 71808-03
Chrome Hand control lever kit #45075-07 (plain chrome...nothing fancy)
Doghog: I ordered using the part number I provided and got the right stuff; the pic is just a pic of one of the three--HD didn't bother to show pics of all three or the one of the three that is pictured in the catalog/website.
A less expensive alternative (and the one I have used for two+ years and 40K miles) is to buy Custom Chrome 23-250 (IIRC) from Eastern Performance Cycles, a forum sponsor, and use the levers, clutch perch, and master cylinder from that kit with the HD switch housings. The cost differencewas ~$275.

LOL.....It's that "And THEN SOME" that always gets me in trouble!
