Default Fatcat 2-1 Install

I just received my Fatcat's today and am ready for the install. My question is the instructions say to remove the o2 sensor from the rear of the stock pipes, what is the o2 sensor and what does it look like? Also how easy was the install because the instructions are not that detailed. The instructions say that this pipe REQUIRES the use of a SERT, will I be okay with my Fuelpak? Sorry for all the questions but any help would be greatly appreciated.

the o2 sensors are on each pipe, you will see two wires on each one, they have a plug about 6 inches from the sensor to disconect them, if the bike is a year or so old, it may be a bitch to unscrew.....you can use a fuel pak, sert pc3 or any other decent air fuel manager that will aoow you to control/add more fuel to the mixture.

Yepper!

Also, if you have only one O2 sensor, BE SURE to tighten the plug that is in the other O2 sensor bung ~ in the other headpipe! Several have reported having had them vibrate loose and fall out in the road.

You can do it either way, install them in the Fatcats or leave them off and put plugs
in the O2 bung-holes, I would suggest putting them in, or you will get more decel
popping from the un-burn't fuel in the exhaust, there are alot more knowledgable
ppl than meself, but I think I'm the ballpark on this one, or just call D&D and talk
to them, I'm sure they would give you some great advice, you probably need to put
a little "anti-seize" on the O2 threads for re-install, make sure not to get any on the
sensors or they will not work correctly.

I been working on mine for the past 5 hours, just snapped the muffeler bolt that instructions say to torque to 150 in lbs, snapped the dam thing, will have to wait until I get a new one tomrrow. Did anyone have to use the spacers on the rear mount to ease alignment and bolt up? These pipes look great but the instructions suck. Haveto see tomorrow.

I agree the instructions are horrible.

Does anyone have any pictures of the D & D bracket and how it's suppose to be installed. These directions absolutely suck, I need pictures. I'm not even sure where the included hardware goes.

I have not installed my Fat Cats yet (still building the motor) but I have looked at the hardware and talked with my mentor Phil . The angle iron bracket will mount in place of the existing bracket you have on your transmission. Phil's tip, put your bike tires on 2 x 4's and then on its side stand. That will minimize the amount of trans fluid that will leak out because you have to loosen, not remove, the trans cover to access the forward allen head bolt to remove the bracket. My understanding is that the new bracket does not use that forward hole. With most exhaust, you will probably have to shim and massage the fit.

Good luck. Exhaust should be sooo easy but it is always a PIA!!
