For general performance gains go with a 2 into 1 set up with either of the two pipes. The D&D may havea slight edge with the numbers but you wont feel the difference.Looks wise,i'm with the thunderheader! If you decide to get the 2:1 set up,both brands make a "falsey"pipe for the other side for the dual set up look.
In my opinion you cant go wrong with either brand, they both sound good esp. after a bigger cam set up!!!!
I plan on doing a 95" kit this wintr and i'm going to a 2:1 set as well.I'm leaning towards the t-header because the fatcat isa lil big looking, but if i catch a deal on it well its get ordered!!!
You'll probably here a lot of pros and cons on this, but youll be a head of the game for future eng mods with either pipe!!!!

Thunderheaders! You can make them scream, growl and whine at low speeds and high speeds. If you can afford it, get the 2 into 1 Thunderheader. They sound better than the Thunderheader slipons.

My vote is for the thunder header. Had the d&ds and did not like the idle sound as they sounded like tin cans. I think they look like some type of crotch rocket set up. just my 2 cents !

The thunder header is without a doubt the most wicked sounding pipe out there, but for a touring rig that does lots of miles they can be really loud.

If you're going for sound, nothing sounds better than the Thunderheader. I now run a Fatcat, (had a Thunderheader on another bike and lilked it's perforance), but I always thought it felt liked it had a bitsofter pull than the D&D. I'm not one who thinkgs the TH is ugly though. If you wipe the collector area at each wash, it will stay nice and clean. I somewhat agree with the Fatcat having a bit of a "metric" look...but it also sounds very good to my ear and without question makes solid consistent power. Most Fatcat dyno's, irrespective of builds, run straight up for early high torque performance, and once acheived stay there to redline with the exception of a dip around 3300-3600 that straightens out at 4000K. I'm not sure why that occurs, but I prefer to a typcial TH torque dip at the beginning of the rev band, even with the baffle tweak. That said, I've seen some 2-1 dyno's with NO dip anywhere.

I listed my Thunderheader dual system in the classifieds today for $350 complete from head to tail.
