who makes the maxxis ???

and, remember that the chassis dynamics of our bikes prevent any good tire from shinning . and therefore , any tire would shine which would not be the case at all if we had better lean angles and chassis dynamics.......

yes you may tell a difference in noise,( ?) can you actually hear the tire ?

and, in following groves on the road .

I ran Metezeler on the rear of my 06 RKC. Only got 7500 miles on it was really disappointed in that, i got almost twice that on the first tire which was stock.
A Friend of mine run one on the rear of his 2002 EGS and got around the same mileage. He went back with Dunlop stock tire.

Tires are like seats and pipes, everyone is different. I had very good reults with metlers on my Valkyries. The beginning of this year I put them on my Glide, they rode nice but got no mileage out of them. The rear only gave me 9k, I usually ride 2 up. Needless to say I am back with Dunlops, I can usually get 13k out of them.

I put the 880's on mine this last time and the difference in cornering was awesome, the bike feels great through the turns, I think I'll stick with metzler's from now on, they also tread water great.

w/ the correct air pressure, i get 11-12000 on the rear and double that on the front. 50% 2-up riding.

880's on mine. I for one do not think it is wise to worry and try to save money on tires. Tires are one of the most important components of your motorcycle. I think performance is the deciding factor to me.

I can install a hard azz set of tires that bounce you around for 12K miles or you can have a tire that is comfortable, tracks well, good in rain so you do not crash, and a tire that is durable over the lifespan of the product. I just pay for whatever I get out of the tire, replace them and wear out another set.

I do not know if the Metzler’s are the best tire out there but if you keep any tire inflated to the proper pressure, that tire will give you a better service life I guess if you wanted to save money, pick a different priority. Slow down on the unhealthy groceries you are slamming down your neck or cigarettes they have got you smoking.. Any other comments on tire brands would be appreciated by all. If you got a better deal, post it for all to see. I always take advice or knowledge into account.

I haven't seen or heardanything negative about them. I was on the fence between the Dunnies and the Mets but I think after spending time on this forum I am leaning toward the Metzlers, and the fact that my mechanic has them on his bike too.
I changed to Metzlers in January. I've been riding on Dunlops since 1990. I was not impressed with the handling in the rain. I've never slid around so much since riding in the dirt. Luckily I picked up a nail and used that as an excuse to change back to Dunlops. No more sliding around for me.

FastHarley said it all . . . .
Your only on two wheels, make it the best handling and safest set of tires.

If you do only slab ridingand not much twisties, the Dunnies will do.
If youride aggressive, Metzlers are a must.
