I voted theat they are junk!!!!! I know first hand they were engineered very poorly, to attach em there is a thereaded insert that has a machined screw that goes in the existing frame holes below the tank, and the bottom of the shield has an hole in it looks like a Life Saver Candy hole that the side covers snap into what a piece of junk they are and I stripped one of the threaded inserts E mailed Kuryakan and their customer service wanted to sell me a new set of hardware $20.00 plus shipping! Great customer service I havent used em since Ill send em to ya in trade for an XXLG Harley Dealer T shirt and shipping! Thanks Bill
I had them on my ultra put them on last year while at sturgis, they work good ,about 2mnths ago broke right side getting off my bike hooked it with my foot somehow. I would buy them again. looking at the ones fromforum vender next. just remembered kuryakans were pain to put on.
This is the second set I have had. The first set broke. I can't blame Kuryakyn though. I had a jerk pull out in front of me.I had to do a 35mph to 0mph stop in about 50 feet and clenched my knees in tight and broke off the left ons top mount. Lucily that was the only thing that broke that day. An impact would have broken alot more.
RJs are a piece of cake to install. 5-10 minutes max (this includes one beverage). They don't break or melt. They cost a bit more than the plastic/lexon junk that HD/Kury uses, but in this case you get what you pay for. If you want to save a buck in the long run, get the RJs.
Yep, just what he said, they are easy to install. In fact you can take a picutre of them and send it to RJ and he will look and verify if they are correct. He called me on a Sunday and told me to adjust them, and he was right. Great product, great guy!! Yep about double the price of the plastic stuff, but you will like it much, much better.
