Default Ever Drop A Road Glide ???

Haven't dropped mine but was looking at it and thinking that a bigdisadvantage of the fixed fairing has got to be that it would sustain more damage if the bike falls over than a batwing would.

It seems that batwing fairing would be turned away from the direction it's falling and be much less likely to take a hit but that the outter edge of the Road Glide's fairing would be exposed to sustaining some serious road rash.

We never like to think we could drop 'em,maybe that's why I've never seen anyone talk about "damage control" when comparing the EG,RG,SG....wondering what actual experience, thoughts etc are.

Dropped mine this summer. Contact points were the engine guard and the bottom corner of the hard bag guard (added the full guard when I bought it). No damage to the bike anywhere except a couple of scuff markson the guards.

I layed down my old 98 and it landed on the engine guard and saddlebag guard. Only a couple minor scratches to those. I am looking at adding the chrome saddlebag guards on my new one.

I put them on my bike. These are the comfort style. You can't attach crash bar bags to these but I wasn't planning on it anyway. I got them from an Ebay store for around $120 I think.

Dropped my 0 3RG once. Fairing has a scratch in it as per the attached photo.
It dropped after hitting the side of a minevan at 50 or so, and I had to let go of
the handlebars and start flying. Thats when it dropped.
