f you do a search on this forum you'll find good reviews on the Garmin 2610. It's a discontinued model but still available on ebay for less than $200.00and it's waterproof.

These are new gps' and you can get into a program they have where you can trade later in order to upgrade. They carry mounts and hard wire for motorcycles/cars/truck. The 2610 will come with either v6 or v7 and if it comes with v6 you can upgrade to v7 free from garmin. It has the 12 volt plug w/speaker and bean bag mount for the car. Hard wire is extra. the hard wire has a plug to plug the sound into you radio or external speaker.
I have had my 2610 since they came out with the 2700 series and it has been a good one. I do suggest that you get at least a 2 gb sd card to hold all the maps and information for your trips.

I have used the Roadtech Quest (Harley's GPS made by Garmin) for over a couple of years now. It is waterproof, been in many rain storms with it and it shows elevation, which many don't (important to me). I have the voice interupt thru my XM radio which tells you when to turn, etc. It also has all of the Harley dealers programed into the unit so you can route directly there, a very useful function.
