Default GPS help

Tis the season for sale prices. A lot of decent GPS's going on sale in the next couple of days. All the ones I have seen are not waterproof. I was looking for an all around unit to use on the bike, car, and ideally pocket. I found some good deals on the Garmin Nuvi 260, but not waterproof. I am not a rain rider and would sooner sit out a storm than ride in one. Is a nonwaterproof GPS a possibilty? I want something easy to pop off when I leave the bike, so why not just pop it off in wet weather? Others have told me they just pop a ziplock bag over top with a rubberband seal and keep on riding. The top of the line GPS's such as the Zumo are more money than I want to spend. I will not be using enough to justify the price. Thoughts and ideas????

If you do a search on this forum you'll find good reviews on the Garmin 2610. It's a discontinued model but still available on ebay for less than $200.00and it's waterproof.

Try Garmin's ZUMO. I got the 550 model. It came with bike mounts and car mounts. It also works with Blue tooth. It is helpful and very entertaining.

+1. It is a great GPS, that can both be used on the bike and in the cage.

Really enjoy my Garmin 550. Great on the bike and cage and makes a great hands free cell phone device.

Love my Zumo 550. Like earlier post comes with cage setup as well. Very easy to see the display when riding.

I got a Zumo 450. They're less than the 550 and I didn't need bluetooth. I love it, especially since I can load up an SD card with tunes and plug it straight into the Harmon-Kardon. Zumos are made for bikes and Garmin is tops in GPS.

look at a quest they are good and cheap. They are suposed to be water proof but I still don't take a chance I just pop it off, and use it in my truck too.
