His price is on par with high retail in NADA, but your bikes worth 2K more. However if its the bike that you want.....its up to you! I've never seen anyone trade down from a bagger though.
I believe I would want a later year model Ultra. A lot of used and new bikes out there. You can have your pick. Take your time and look around. Good luck.
Here in SoCal $14500 is a fair price, depending on the mileage and condition of course. Speaking from experience, I think the market for that bike should be at $13000 to $13500. if the seller wants it sold. Otherwise, he can sit on his price and will have to wait longer for someone to come along and pay $14500. The bike books out at approx $15000.
Although I like the paint scheme on the '03, there really isn't anything that make them all that special, IMO. I would look for a newer model, with less miles on it. However, this is your decision, and only you will know for sure if this Ultra is the bike for you. If you love the Ultra, then I guess you would have to trade.
That's not an especially good deal for your and there's nothing special about the 03 anniversary.
I moved from an 03 softail to an 07 Ultra and am very happy.
The used bike market is pretty soft but I'd try selling mine at a fair price and look around for a better deal. Lots of stuff out there.
