If you want get the most out of your headlights, get rid of the yellow bulb. It's good for fog but that's about it.

Changing to E-code headlights is the most cost-effective means of increasing your light output and improving the pattern. For those of you with 7" headlights (EG/RK), this is an excellent upgrade for a very low cost:

Hella E-code headlights

I also have used these 80/100w H4 bulbs with E-code and stock headlights and have had no problems with the added amperage or heat.

Daniel Stern has been mentioned here and has a very good site, but his Cibie headlights cost twice that of the Hellas I chose, and I couldn't find any evidence that they were better. Both are highly regarded lights with Cibie's made in France, Hella in Germany. Hella bulbs are made in Hungary and I've found them to be very durable, especially using a modulator. This apparently enhances the lifespan because the highbeams run cooler in daylight since they pulse 20-100% 4x/sec.

Daniel Stern pushes using one yellow. I did not, and use two 80/100 Osram bulbs.

Did you swap out the spot lamps or use the factory with the E-code 7" headlamp?

SG's don't come with passing lamps and I never added them. With the much-improved low-beam pattern I don't feel they are needed at night and the bright headlight with modulator is more visible to cagers in daylight, IMO. The low-beam pattern is so much improved that I don't think the passing lamps are a necessary add-on for the SG.

The "Street Ultra" is a little play on words since I've added so much stuff to this bike, with the total price being more than an Ultra would cost.

OK, help me out here some guys...I have never really delved into the lights on my RG...When you all are talking about this light upgrade you are only talking about the bulbs not the actual reflectors inside the fairing correct???

If so what is the better bulb replacement for the RG? Hella H4 or this OSRAM?

The Euro upgrade is a new reflector assembly. The Euro reflectors have a more focused beam and are a BIG improvement. Add to that higher watt bulbs. .
