Default Samson Exhaust ?

Does anybody have Samson silver bullet 33" fish tails slipons on their RKC (TC-88 STOCK) bike? mine is 06 stock. If so, how does it sound/run.

I'm not familiar with the Samson Silver Bullet slip ons but I have a set of Rolled Thunder Ovals and the right one is turning a nice gold color after only 8000 miles. Bike was dynoed and everything was tuned. Good A/F mixture. Not running lean. Still turned color. Samson wouldn't but my dealer is making good on them. Anyway, some I know have said on here they have had no problems with the Samsons. I do like the sound and maybe I just got a lemon but thought I'd let you know. Samson will not back them. They have a disclaimer saying if they turn gold or blue that it's a tuning issue and not their fault. BS!!

Samson has the reputation for making cheaply built exhausts, loud sounding, and bad customer service.

I've never owned any Samson, but when you don't see anyone running them out of the thousands of people online.........that should be a sign.

I've been using them for 7 years. They are kind of mellow in sound, IMO. They turned slightly gold on the front. No big deal to me, since they do have nearly 70k miles on them.

I run SAMSOM side dumps and I think they're great... They started out on my '01 RKC and changed them out to Rineharts when they first came out... They sat in the garage until the day I brought home the '07 RG - Slapped them on and I like the way the sound and they still look NEW...

Buddy runs Samson FIshtails in his Classic - They do sound a bit tinny as do most fishtails but they are LOUD... We always make him ride in the rear of the pack on longer putts (lol)

Customer service with Samson does suck!!!

I just instal. 29" Silver Bullet Turned Down on my SG, had the Super Trapp SE's on but I'm in the process of installing Bad Dad bags and fender on bike and wanted to dump the exhaust out the bottom rather than cut holes for the pipes. And the length of Samson'swith the turned down tips is whatI had to go with. The Samson slip on's are nice at idle, deep rumble. Louder as you roll off the line, not as deep as the SE's, just louder. At cruz speed, I feel they're not as loud as the SE's. The Super Trappsmade a jack hammer pop at cruz speed, I liked it. So I feel, if you want loud go with Samson, if you want something of a deep roar go with a different brand, many to choice from. Listen to other bikes and ask around.

I have Samson 33" fishtails. Mine do not have baffles. Are these the ones you are talking about? I bought them because I always liked the look. They are loud, which I like. If they are cheaply made, I can't tell the difference. I read all the time how drag pipes rob you of low end torque, but again, I can't tell. I love them. Would I buy them again? Probally not. For no other reason than I already have them (check off of wish list), and am thinking of going to a 2-1 system. The only complaint I have about them is where the right slip on mounts to the stock headers. I used my old clamps, and should have used new ones. I have a bit of a issue with them bluing, but a little Blue Job works great. If I keep them through the winter I am going to pull them off, get some new clamps, and apply some RTV silicon to the them, and see if that stops the discoloration. Either that, or I am going to have them Jet hotted black. Then it should not be an issue at all, LOL. Plus, I have never seen anyone with black fishtails, LOL. And besides, for the price I paid for them, I can not complain, much.If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask because according to MUC, I am the only one running them, LOL.[8D]
