Default Handlebars

Hey there:
I need some help/advice here. I just bought a 91 FLHTC and the handlebars are too far forward/up for my liking at all. How tough is it to change this? Looks like I might have to remove a bunch of gadgets? Anybody done this and can hep me?

Hey Wally,

Not a tough job at all changing the bars. It gets a little more complicated when you have to lengthen your wires and add longer cables and brake lines but nothing anyone with some mechanical ability and a manual can accomplish in a weekend. I found this write up to be absolutely and by far the best help in changing my bars. https://www.hdforums.com/m_1328001/tm.htm I have an 06 RKC and changed out the stock bars and went with Wild 1 518's. I had to lengthen all my wires, install longer clutch, throttle, idle cables and longer blake lines and I think I had about 8 hours total in the project. Good Luck!

Thanks Red....but Im not changing them...just need to loosen and pull em back some.....like rotate em in their mounts back toward me some. I reckon I just need to take off the headlight first and look behind there.
Thanks
