Put a set of RK Custom bags on my 03, what do you think? I had to adjust the bracket a little, other than that they went right on. I am going to keep the hard bags as a second set.
I would like to see a complete side view, if ya have one. I have a '05 rk custom. At first, I did not care for the bags, and really wanted hard bags. Well, I still want a set of hard bags, so I can run a amp and speakers in them, but I really like the custom bags, now. I added the lock kit, and now I am very happy with them.
When I bought my bike, I thought that the bags looked unique, and was a selling point for me. then after having it for a bit, I thought it would be cool to have bags that were apinted to match the bike. Now, like I said, I actually like the bags again. But, I still want to get a set of hard bags to switch out with.
I really like the way the custom bags look on the RK. The rear slope gives a unique view to bike, changes the look to me. I like them on my bike, and thats what counts.
PapaTravis:
I bought the bags off of ebay and left one had some road rash. It is at the leather shop now. I have the guy re dying the bag, so you cant see the road rash and putting some glue on a spot to keep adhered to the plastic. $35 dollars. To take the leather off and replace was $300. Almost the cost of a new bag. While I have these, I want to get the extensions for my hard bags and have them painted to match.
I am going to try the shoe polish on the right one where the road rash is. Wait and see how the left one comes out from the leather shop. If it is significant probably send the right one to them. If not, just leave it. No one will notice at 60 mph.
