This has been a very interesting post. Everyone has a right to there opinion. That is one thing that is afforded to all of us...ironically in a largepart because of the job done by todays law enforcement community. Now people say they read this and that, or heard this and that in the media. Well, perception is reality in the abscence of communication. I guess thats ok if you want to blindly believe an image that the media sells to youwithout taking the time to find out the true facts for yourself. Again, that is up to you and you alone. If you do,than that is the small world you will condem yourself to live in. I find it very interesting that a post like this would be on a Harley forum. Most of the poeple I have met via the Harley community don't agree with judging everyone by that "1%".

[ul][*]Well, I'm looking forward to ridung that route. Sounds like a nice one.[*]I'm hoping everyone is honest all the time.[*]I'm expecting, however, that since everyone is human (good, bad, and everything in between), that there will be some of those in EVERY profession - every position.[*]So I'll hope for the best and let them help me decide who is who.[*]And in all this process, I'll choose to be honest, even when being dishonest might be more convenient. I've been down that road and found I like the scenery from thehigh road much better.[/ul]

Choochoo, next time you are bored and decide to stir the pot, take a little time and come up with something that makes sense. This whole thread is f***ing lame. "Not trying to start an argument"......yeah, right.
I think it, you type it. Sweet.

The officer resigned as I stated, prior to being brought before the board on charges of violation of department rules and regs. He knew if found guilty by the board he would have been fired. You can not allow an officer to violate state or federal law. He still faces criminal charges of domestic battery. That is a crime against the state not an individual. All charges are brought by the prosecutors office to enforce the laws of the state of Indiana. If convicted that is a felony and prohibits him from carrying a weapon. By resigning he still recieves his pension. He is not entilted to any retirement credentials or his customary service weapon due to not leaving ingood standing. This is an example of being held to higher standard that we talked about earlier. Doesn't seem right but imagine what the public would say if he returned to work carry a weapon after being found guilty of a felony.

Casper, sorry man but you got it backwards.
The draft brought in far less capable people than the volunteer Army has.
Basic training 1967 Ft.Campbell KY.Alot of thedraftees couldn't read or write,
and they sure didn't want to be there. Not ahigh techArmy.
Kinda generalizing here! I was drafted in 1969 and I didn't want to be there. But I did what I was supposed to do and a received a Purple Heart and a few other medals while I was there. I can honestly say that I never met anyone that couldn't read or write. We didn't need to be real high tech to stomp around in the rice paddies.
