Picked up my scoot today after IDS install. All I can say is WOW! Like a different bike .... everything feels tighter, bike runs smoother, just awesome. Thanks all for convincing me to do this!
Just had mine installed. Could only ride for 30 min. or less. I didn't feel WOW, but I did see some improvement in 5th gear (less noise), and it was a little smoother excellerating through all gears. What all made you feel WOW? Can you be specific?
Thanks,
Alan
Happy 4 ya...
Ya know I just buy it??? HD is saying that it's because of the Larger Engine (96CI)??? My stage 2 - 95CI didn't have a problem - My stage 2 - 103CI didn't have a problem... But my '07 96CI does???
And seeing as HD repaired the problem on there '08s as a factory fix... Why shouldn't this be repaired by HD at ZERO COST to the '07 owners???

Despite all the controversy it is a wonderful thing! Glad you like it as much as I do. Happy riding
I just picked mine up after an IDS installand a nice set of V&H ovals. The ride home was a bit brisk as it's only in the high 20's with wind gusts around 35-40, but I can tell I'm going to like these mods. The bike definitely felt better and the pipes sounded great. I can't wait to get it out on a warm day.
There must be almost a million posts on here about IDS.
It is a 'plate' that fixes at the rear wheel that stops a lot of the grinding and rattling that was apparent on 'some' 07's and a lot of people were screaming about.
It then was 'rectified' and fitted as standard to the 08's hence all the fuss etc.
I think it stands for Intergrated Drive System or something similar, it removes slap and movement from the drive system to reduce noise and add a little smoothness.
If you have a problem with an 07 it can be bought as an option and installed for not a lot of money.
Search IDS on this site and you will find all the info you could possibly need; plus a lot of bitchin and moanin too!
