I'm going to Vegas in February and will have 3 1/2 days to take a trip in the area. We'll be renting bikes at Vegas Harley. Any suggestions on a big loop doing about 300 miles a day?? We'll be there Feb 21-26. Weather??
Unless Vages HD is giving you a break on the Rental - Look at Eaglerider http://www.eaglerider.com/
Have used them them a few times & have had better rates then HD
Red Rock Canyon Nice Putt -
Take a Putt to Lake Mead & Hoover Dam
If the weather is right it's a short Putt to Mt Charles Resort - Or out to Zion (163 miles)
I AGREE EAGLE RIDER IS LESS EXPENSIVE. DID IT 2 YRS AGO.. HOOVER DAM GOOD BUT 35 MILES AWAY TOO SHORT.. RED ROCK CANYON NICE TOO BUT 20 MILES OUTTA LV.
WE DID " THE LOOP" TO DEATH VALLEY AND THE SALT LAKE THERE..LOWEST POINT IN USA . LIKE 240 FEET BELOW SEA LEVEL. WE WENT IN APRIL. 65 IN L.V. 90 AT DEATH VALLEY . PERFECT.. FEB WILL BE A GREAT RIDE THERE. I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE....BUT NEVER IN SUMMER ! SEE DANTES PEEK AT DEATH VALLEY. GET FUEL WHENEVER U CAN ...GOOD LUCK.. NICK
Man, I wish I could tell you where to go. Me and the wife went there in July and just couldn't make it out of the casinos[:@]Had all intentions of seeing the dam and some other things but just couldn't beat the demons!! Never go there in July. 130 degrees is just nuts. Have a good time my friend. That dealeship your going to; had some sweet glides there(did make it there).
Head out of Vegas, south to Barstow than to Furnace Creek Resort in Death Valley. Head back to Vegas through Pahrump and take the cut off to Red Rock Canyon. Thats a good days ride.
2nd day
Head north on 15 to Valley of Fire Exit once through the Valley of Fire follow the signs to Lake Mead follow around the Lake. Head over the dam. You could stop there and turn around and head back to Vegas on the 93 or continue into Arizona and take the Laughlin cutoff and continue back to Vegas. If you decide to continue to Laughlin you'll add about 2 hours to your ride.
Weather is iffy at best that time of year. Windy and possible rain.
IF U GET TO HOOVER TAKE ALL THE DAM PICTURES U WANT.. (A JOKE)LISTEN HOOVER DAM IS OK ,,,,BUT NOT THE REASON TO GO TO VEGAS... BUT WORTH SEEING IF U NEVER HAVE... ASK FOR GLEN MANNING... ALSO IF UR A BEATLES FAN...OR IF UR NOT A BEATLES FAN... DO NOT LEAVE L.V. WITHOUT SEEING THE BEATLES CIRQ LOVE SHOW AT THE MIRAGE HOTEL.. GET TIX IN ADVANCE. I WAS THERE LAST MONTH.. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW.. (NO JOKE) .. U MUST BUY TIX IN ADVANCE
