Curious ... wheres the best general neighborhood, area or side of the DFW area to live ... if a guy wanted a house w/ a few acres too.

Im looking around... Reno, NV is getting too expensive now. Renos cheaper than Calif...but most places are

lake worth is nice...more blue collar and on a very busy undersized hwy 199 but its ok....i can sell you a thriving business complete with executive home if you like...turnkey and furnished and three usable water features ....welcome to the metroplex to me the mid cities area up to Keller and all in betweenare nice...Bedford, Grapevine and Flower Mound....Argyle is out from ft worth but will appreciate big in the next coupla years...Denton is also a great spot north of ft worth....on the south side is Mansfield and Kennedale(where i live)....Arlington aint all that anymore....if ya got big bucks and want mature estates, then Westover Hills and just south in KDietz neighborhood is real nice....i hate dallas....dont care for strokers....ft worth has a perfect climate for biz and the city leaders are sharp...we had a big housing boom with the ARM's and there's lots of cookiecutter 0 lot line homes, stay clear of em if you can....Frisco is a traffic nitemare and Plano is north of Dallas but uppity with not much substance....what else you wanna know

I live in Burleson which is in Johnson county where the taxes are cheaper and its not a busy as the rest of the metroplex. There are lots of places in the county where you can get land if you want. And I agree with Texan321 Strokers is a great place to have a burger and a beer. There a little biker bar down here in Burleson called Cuttin Loose, it a good place to have a beer and watch a car race or watch the Cowboys kick somebodys butt.

Welcom Tim, out in your area is a great indy if interested (Steves Cycle). Lots of good riding. Make sure to start looking us up next year.
Also Reno you can get a few acres and a house expecially on the Fort Worth side at resonable rates. ie 2 cares and 2000 sf for 140k

Welcome, thall, look forward to gettin' together. I live south of Dallas in Ovilla, around Red Oak, Midlothian, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Waxahachie, etc. Red Oak, Ovilla, Midlothian and Waxahachie are growing like crazy. But you can still get 5+ acres and build your own.I work just inside Dallas on the south side of the Trinity Riverin Oak Cliff.

i dont think the traffic in frisco is all that bad. there is one bad spot teel and eldorado but thereare ways around it. i just thought it was crazy that we could get a 3200sq house for 250 brand new. our house in milwaukee would be 500+. although bigger yards up there. if we would of found something with a bigger yard north of dallas i would of went for it. wife works at jcpenney's headquarters in plano so she wanted to live close.
