Ok so I am taking my first long trip on the street glide in April. I am so excited I am planning now. I need to get some parts before I go. Santa is hopefully going to help but if the elves don't get everything done by christmas I maybe stuck buying some of my parts. I have a few questions about the harely dealers offering 20% parts.
[ol][*]Do they offer 20% all year round?[*]Does the 20% also apply to special orders?[*]What is the timeframe for parts when they are ordered?[*]If I were to goin a pick the parts up atChicago Harley, does the 20% still apply to store purchases?[*]Who is better to work with Chicago or the Zanottis'?[*]Where is Zanottis' located?[/ol]
Here is the thing I am looking at lower fairings, a sundowner seat, highway pegs, a clearview recurve windsheild, and a Passenger Backrest. Not a small purchase by any means. I would just take the 1hr 30 min trip from milwaukee to chicago to pick them all up to save shipping if they allow pick-up. Also should I call a couple weeks in advance and have them get the order ready. I know the lowers are likely to be the only special ordered item. Thanks in advance for assistance.
You can enter part #'s on these 2 sites and get the bottom line price and shipping costs without commiting to a purchase. These 2 dealers are the top of the list. I am always price checking at these 2 sites.

1. Yes
2. Yes, I ordered painted parts from CHD and got the best prices.
3.Unknown. You would have to talk to each dealer.
4.Yes
5. Both have the strong and weak points. I have dealt with both.
6. Pennsylvania
Thank you for answering my questions I guess Chicago HD is going to be getting all of my busniess from now on. Its way better than my 10% reward program my dealer offers. They give me 10% of my total purchases back in deal credit. I am not sure if this is the best I can do.
The clearview windshield is an aftermarket piece that I doubt a Harley dealer will have in stock or carry at all. You are best to deal with clearview directly. Right now their turn around time is 6-8 weeks on any order...although they do have a very limited number of blems in stock. This is their online site: http://www.clearviewshields.com/ If you give them a call they will help you get exactly what you need.
You will need to call Clearview direct and place your order. SOME lead times are long but others aren't. Don't be scared off ..... call them and they will give you an honest answer.

Sometimes these two dealers have different prices for the same part.Shipping will vary also.
For example, just ordered some lowers.Chicago was $28 lower.
A piece of advice about Zannotti and Chicago HD......these prices generally only apply to on-line orders or phone orders. If you show up, you won't receive the 20% discount. You will also notice that Chicago and Zannotti shows as having everything available, that is because they receive the order and then get it from the Franklin Distribution Center and then ship it to you. I know the dealer that Iwork for claims that a lot of other HD dealers are upset that Chicago and Zannotti are allowed to do that because they end up losing some of their local business that way. In states where this is no sales tax, sometimes the shipping cost comes out in the wash and you are better off buying it at the dealer. I know in NH it was a matter of like $.05 difference on most parts after you pay shipping, etc. so it isn't worth it to buy from Zannotti of Chicago should you live in NH. I don't knock anyone from buying from either place as I too have bought from Zannotti. Just offering a perspective is all.
