Default Best height (Lift) for Maintenance

I'm trying to decide between a lift such as J&S or table type lift. I don't have room or money for both now. I've searched and read many posts on lift recommendations so I'm not trying to start that discussion again. My question is for those who have both ... which do you use most often? What height seems best for most maintenance?

It seemsto me the J&S might be easier to use as you jack it up and don't have to worry about tying it down plus you can roll both wheels but is it high enough to comfortably do most jobs? Thanks for your help.

It's plenty high for most and too high for some. Also get the oil drain try which makes it easy to drain all 3 holes. I use mine when I wash the bike. Jack it up, remove the bags, roll it outside, wash it, blow it off, and roll it back. All in 30 minutes.

You can also move the bike around in the shop to get more room or spin it around to work on the other side close to you work bench. Can't do that with a table.

Yes, I would also like a table at times. For now, the jack works great.

I have a Pitbull jack and a Handy air lift, so each is about as good as it gets. For the Road King, I use the Pitbull for everything but engine oil drain (since the bike is supposed to be on the Jiffy stand (leaning) for that). And of course you can drain engine oil with the bike on the floor. With the Pitbull, it is extremely stable and I can do all other maintenance, plus washing and waxing.

I'd go with a jack, but get a good one (one that is very stable and that you won't have any concerns about using it to work on the bike). Lots of the cheaper jacks appear to be very fussy with the exact positioning of the motorcycle on them. Once my RK is on the jack, I can wheel the whole works around the garage without any problem.

If you're going to buy a high quality jack get the Pitbull. It will lift 25" and the J&S will only do 17".
