My bikes up on the lift now.IDS is installed and rear tire is ready to go back on but I decided to put Lindall brake pads on too, so waiting for them to come in.Its raining out so im taking the time to clean and wax bike and have a centerstand on the way too.Install of IDS has been easy so far
I have it and love it! I've seen no negative posts from anyone who has tried it.
I posted on other threads, that my shifting is still very noisy (using SYN). I have over 1500 miles and still haven't seen any improvement. Took it back to HD and said "everyone on this forum love it.". Service manager took for ride and said "yep" it is just isn't smooth. Leave it here for a day and we will check it out. Didn't have time... Will take within the next two weeks.
Quester I'd defintely take it back to them. They must have done something wrong. The IDS should have improved your ride. I like the others can't believe how it has quieted the bike and made shifting smooth as silk. I had mine done as soon as they came out and had a chance to put about a 1000 miles on it with the IDS. It's like a completely different bike than before and I didn't think mine was all that noisy before the IDS install.
Look on page 35 of the 2007 holiday parts guide if you got one in the mail from Harley.
HD is offering the IDS for all 07 owners. They finally wised up and caught on that we are all onto something here. I was the first install at Latus in Portland. They tell me that they've done several since. I had them do mine because of the elbow grease discount.
I love what the IDS did for my bike. Best upgrade I've made to my 07 RG.

Has anyone installed & used the new Isolated drive system?
Yes, sir ! Probably the hottest selling part on the market right now ! Just do yourself and wallet a big favor and look around for the best price { $305.retail from H/D is BS ! } Zanotti H/D has a website and has a decent price . I got mine thru my local " indy" and with bearing pressed on was $215.00 + tax. I did the install myself ...piece 'o cake ! [sm=icon_quiet.gif]

It won't take the "clunk" out of shifting, will quiet the chatter and smooth the surge while shifting either up or down
Zanotti H/D { Butler, Pa. } sells the IDS # 40287-07 for $ 198.25 + shipping . Also ask them the extra cost for pressing on the bearing if your unable to do so, should only be a few bucks ? Their phone number for Internet orders is : 724-283-5419 Happy Shopping !!
IDS CAN ALSO BE GOTTEN ON EBAY IF YOU WATCH FOR ONE THAT IS BEING SOLD AFTER A TRIKE CONVERSION. THE 08 IDS AT $100 AND $41 FOR THE BEARINGS AND SPACER FOR THE 07 ULTRA ETC WILL WORK JUST FINE IF YOU LIKE TO DO IT YOURSELF. YOU CAN ORDER THE BEARING AND SPACERS FROM YOUR DEALER. CAN TAKE A COUPLE WEEKS TO GET THEM, BUT YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF A COUPLE HUNDRED THIS WAY. BEARING PART # 40670-06, SPACER INNER #11846, SPACER OUTER #11844. IT WORKS.
