My wrench has offered me a used PC III that he took off his own Ultra. He wants $200. I think they retail for around $365, but haven't I seen them on Ebay for $265? Do I try to talk him down or go with a new one? Where is the best place to buy one? Thanks for any help.

That is a good price, I recently bought an older serial port version for $125 shipping included and a new usb model for $150 shipping included for another friend. Deals are out ther you just have to be there at the right time, but again it is not bad. Jamie at fuelmoto sells new fot $269, at least that was last years price.
My rule of thumb is never buy used electronics. You're right, a new one can be had for $260-$280 depending upon your bike model. Why deal with the potential aggrevation if you have a problem with the used one. Is it really worth the $60 you might save?
I have a PCIII USB that came off my '04 White Ultra Classic. The bike was totalled 2 weeks ago by a red light runner.
It works perfectly if you are interested in it... PM me.
I bought mine used for $200 from a harley mechanic 4 years ago and have had no problems with it. He even installed and did the initial dial in for free.
