Thank God for a Thindermax Auto Tune, adjusted AFR, works great.
2nd that. Too bad more folks hasn't tried the Thundermax with Auto tune, It has Bosh Wide Band Oxygen sensors and works well in Closed loop mode. I ran one for about a year before I got my 08 Touring bike. Waiting on a upgrade from TM now so I can put one on my Standard.
The TM is a true tuner and droped my temps on my bike a lot. Tuning on abike has a lot to do with what kind of pipes you have on your bike also.

Would just having SERT along with stock pipes reduce heat on the 08's? Would you still need the dealer to do a dyno tune?

I told you guy's a long time ago I am new to this computermasquerading as a motorcycle deal! I've installed the Rineharts and Sert, IDS, and a ton of other stuff ... the heat feels great in this 25 degree weather we've been having! On my last scoot all I had to worry about was the jetting on my Mikuni! (Well that and the timing and ..... ) Anyway I'm new to all this "hook up a laptop and tune your bike stuff" but I'm learning thanks to you all. Hell I don't know a Nightrider sales pitch ( I thought that was a TV series in the 80's) from a high fast ball!

Hey Vic. When I headed out for work this morning. The thermometer in the truck was reading 17 degrees. It has a variance of +-4 degrees.. but that is still cold for NM. LOL

A dyno tune is a must with the sert for anyone who ask that question, like me. It is just plug and play but the play part is not easy at all. If you are a wiz with a laptop and can read the bible in 1 sitting than give it a try.The Dyno tune will get it right the first time (in most cases) and for me well worth the small price to drop it off and pick it up ready to go. I did the Dyno along with stage 1, pipes,a/c,sert and i am done. The Sert alone will reduce the heat because most of the heat issue is from running too lean and the rest is from running to dry. The pipes and a/c will increase performance and further reduce the heat.
