choochoo, one of the advantages of this site and others like it, is that you do not have to have an intermediate photohost such as Photobucket to show pictures.

What you have just described will certainly work, but it is an unnecessary step, and those who have slow computers (dial up) will not appreciate having a lot of full sized pictures trying to load every time they change a page.

This site allows us to browse and upload direct from our own computers, and changes them automatically to thumbnails. Those who wish to view them full size just click on the thumbnail to expand the picture. This feature helps speed up the site for those with dial up connections. Just click on the "Post Reply" button, rather than "Fast Reply," and you will find the photo options.

Photobucket can also create thumbnails. Click the box above the picture, than scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the "create link", and you will find several different options, one of them being clickable thumbnails.

Photobucket can also resize your pictures, if your computer doesn't have a photo program on it. Load them to photobucket, and then click on the edit button to find the resize option.

TaDa, you got it! that was a small picture to begin with, just don't get them too big or the slow things down and are too big for the page.

Ride well,

Jim

I appreciate the help and patience with this.....

I have tried downloading straight from my computer files and have also tried the Photobucket method. I have done all of the resizing, saving, copying, pasting, searching, reading, yada, yada, but when I get to the last step I get a message about the files (or something) not being supported. Can anyone tell me what that's all about?

Thanks.

I'm not sure are you using pics with jpg extensions? The picture has to be on a web site like photo bucket etc. copy the address and place it between no spaces.

Like this one.

Ride well,

Jim
