I have an '08 FLHX and can't stand the crappy factory grips. My last bike had Kuryakyn Iso Grips. These aren't available for the '08's yet. Kuryakyn says the end of January. Has any body with an '08 found grips that fit with the ETC? If so what brands and do you like them?
Yeah...whole bunch of stuff isn't available for the 08's yet, like seats etc. I put the new Ironside grips on my 08, but wish I would have just left the stock ones on. Either way, I'm going with some basic black with a chrome end cap at the 1000 mile service.
I hated the factory grips.... ifI didn't wear gloves... or if I wore fingerless.... that black crap would rub off on my hands.
I bought some basic Harley grips Chrome with black rubber lines. The middle line had the Harley bar & Shield stamped in it. Not fancy... but nice. I am really starting to like them. I hink I paid about $68.00 bucks for them at the dealer
Say DAWG, trying to bring another one over to the darkside? I followed DAWGs instructions and installed the ISO grips on my 08UC with not trouble at all.
Also used the Harley Rail Grip in the large diameter. Had them on my Road King and really liked them. Gave my fingers something tofidget with while putting on those miles across the tundra. $68 bucks is accurate and am having them put on my new SG this week.....then hopefully they'll deliver the the scoot so I can watch it sit until the snow melts!...ugh!
Can you give installation procedure for ISO grips on 2008 Ultra throttle by wire?
Thanks
1. Get a set of these http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp...ic&ci=2925 universal ISO grips.
2. Take top cover off of switch housing/brake perch to release throttle grip.
3. Gently give a tug on the throttle grip to release it from the sensor.
4. Cut all of the rubber off the stock grip and sand it down a bit to remove all the material to make a âsleeve.â
5. Take the ISO grip with the larger inside diameter and using the supplied grip glue, glue the sleeve that you just made into the ISO grip. 6. Gently push new grip on until it snaps into the throttle sensor.
7. Install left grip as you normally would
