You've got to give something to get something. With a shorter side wall, there is less rubber to absorb bumps in road, but handling and cornering are better.
If a smooth ride is more important than handling, stick with the 16's. If handling and a better looks are more important, go with the 21's.

I think you need to go for it, rather than trying to split the difference with the 18's. JMO.

I haven't lowered mine and have never felt anything unstable at any speed. As far as the speedo, they aren't very accurate to begin with but I did check mine with a radared speed zone sign and it was pretty much on.

Man I like the way GMAC's scoot looks. I'm going 21x18 when bigdaddy's wallet recovers from the Holidays!

Some peeps that used a different combo other than 21/18 usually ends up goin to a 21/18 in the end. I did a 21/18 on my street bob and noticed the difference as far as steering due to the front tire bein smaller. I got used to the 90 series. Then I went with my SG, did a 21/18 right off the bat with a 120 front, didnt even notice the difference.

Your bike is one of the reasons I bought my Pewter SG! I have to say I have heard several folks who have gone to a 21x18 after an 18x18 but never 21 to 18. I assume you lowered your front end at least an inch as well?

I am also about to order the 21 and 18 combo. Having 22's inch wheels on my lexus ls460 made the handling much better but you feel everything on the road with those low pro tires I am sure is the same feel on a motorcycle but it definetly looks awesome....

Yeah...I've had 20" Pirelli tires on my last car, and same or close on others. No question about the low profile ride on a car. If that is the analogy, my search is over. I easily give up a "tad" bit of plush ride for the far superior handling of the 20" rubber on my cars. Then again four wheels vs twocreates all kinds of comparitive differences.

On my motorcycle, afirmer ride isn't a problem for me. A "harsh" ride that doesn't handle high speed riding well, (100+) is.

As soon as the shops open back up and I get final pricing from a few sources, I'm placing some orders as soon as end of the week.

Those that lowered their frt ends an inch running the 18/21 setup wish or would recommend dropping the frt end more?
