I'm considering using Hooker tuned slip-ons, stage 1 SE air kit, and a SERT. Does anyone have any input on this combination for a 06 SG. I heard the HD download was not right and is still currenlty set for the bike to run lean. I'm having problems with my SG spiting which sometimes causes the bike to stall. I was told that is because the bike is running to lean. My HD dealer recomended using a SERT when I add slip-ons. They do have a DYNO. Looking for opinions on this set up. I love the bike, we are just tring to work out some small issues with it being a new model.
Get the Hookers - you'll love them. Great sound, style and power. They are loud though. Excellent torque characteristics and good top end. Better bottom end than true duals. Just like in my old street rodding days, your bottom end is improved with a crossover between the pipes. Same principle applies here.
The SERT would be my recommendation for you as well. I'm running the SE Stage 1 intake and the PCIII USB as well as the Hookers. The bike runs perfectly, but the PCIII takes up a fair amount of space and you will need to find a place to mount it. Probably not a problem on 49 state bikes, but somewhat more difficult on California models due to the charcoal cannister. I ended up doing a very clean install on my CA bike, but it took a bit a creativity on my part. The SERT, on the other hand, doesn't take up any room on the bike. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with the SERT instead of the PCIII.
I went with the SERT and dyno tune on my Street Glide. SE stage 1, and I chose the 2 into 1 supertrap exhaust. My dyno numbers came out good with 78 tq and 76 hp.
The SERT in my opinion is the best efi tuning product but it is also the most expensive. You will get a little more power with a 2 into 1 over slip ons.
