I put the between-the-fork wind deflector on about two weeks ago. Good lord, why I didn't do this the day I bought bike I'll never know. Probably because it was in like the 80's. The last month it has regularly been in the 30's at 5:30 in the AM when I leave, and I can finally ride without my eyes tearing-up from wind blast.
Picked up the bike today (5000 mi service) with the IDS installed; another oh-my-gosh. The only reasons I had the dealer do the service or install were 1) I know the mechanic personally, 2) the bike had an oil leak from day one (turned out to be the oil filter boss plugs), and 3) They basically did the install for free. Believe it or not, I had actually forgotten they we're putting it on as I was in a rush to make it to the dealer before closing (I was out surfing ). Anyway, I'm riding it home thinking "how can this be so smooth? I put a TMAX on it, and I know they couldn't have changed the tune, they don't even know what it is". Then I remembered the IDS. Wow, I mean wow, this is smooth. Another item I should have put on ASAP. Did I mention WOW?

Is that part number, 58121-85B? I installed the new adjustable wind deflectors (58156-08) and they DO NOT stop the wind from blowing up in my face. That was $100.00 down the drain. I need to start picking up parts in my truck so that I can return some of this junk in it's original packaging for a refund. If I had the box, these would go back. I should have went with the $30 fixed option.

I couldn't find either of your posted part numbers.
I put this on my EGS about 2 weeks after purchase. Made 1 hell of a difference. Have since added the chrome deflecters outside the fork....jury is still out on them.
thats good to hear cause i got the air baffle for x-mas, but havent installed it yet cause my SG is at the stealer getting the IDS installed while they are doing some warranty work. hopefully i will be impressed as much as you are with both.

The part # is 58520-79TC. It's a chrome air baffle. Oh, and use BillyG0856's advice and tap the threads out first.
