Default Beach handlebar

I was thinking to change my handle bars on my RK classic to the beach bar like what on the RK custom. My question is, if I change it to the beach bar will I have to change my cables?

Probably. They are much wider than stock. They look great on a RK or a Fatboy. I've seen both. Hell, I think they would look good on my Roadglide. The only thing stopping me is having to change all my cables and wiring. My dealer said it would easily go over $1000.00 by the time I bought the bars, clutch cable, throttle cables and paid to have them installed with the wiring extensions.

For the Road King Classic / change to Road King Custom Beach Bars: Bars part number is 55908-04 around $105.00. You will not have to change the cables nor lengthen the wiring altho the wiring will be snug to tight. You will not have to change the clutch cable as it is long enough. However, you will have to change the stock Brake Line. New Brake Line part number is 43374-04A $91.30. You will also have to buy 6 Banjo washers for the Brake Line Part number is 41731-01 $.99 ea. Don't forget brake fluid. There is installation info within this forum.

I've got them on my RK Classic and while they didn't have to be changed, I've found that they rub on the top of my gas tank whenever I crank the bars hard (like when I'm backing into a tight spot in my garage). When I get some extra cash I am planning on changing my cables.

By the way, I really like the way the bike looks with the beach bar. You can see my bike in the Photo Gallery '02 Road King'. Tell me what you think?

Greetings Terry,
I know it has been a few years since you started that topic, but could you please share your experience on what you had to do with the beachbar?
