Not to side tract the thread, but being 5'9" with a 31" inseem, what size shield would allow me to look over without having to stretch, but afford me some wind protection. I do alot of highway riding for longer trips, so 75+ is not unusual. BTW the fastaire seems to be a well liked shield among the forum members

Anyone with the 8 inch clearview also have the 3 pocket pouch installed? If so does the windshield cover it adequately?
I have been happy with my fastaire windshield, but it is scratched and time to buy a new one. I have been considering the clearview with recurve.
I have one - it does cover the pouch but you still get scratches in it. The nice thing about Clearview is you can polish those out. I put some sticky back velcro pieces (the soft part) on the back corners of my pouches so those are what rub on the windshield. Seems to help.
Another great thing about Clearview is you CAN use Rain-X on them which is a big plus for me.
Can't get the photos to post for some reason, so email me and I'll send you a couple photos of the 8" recurve with the pouch on

A 10" would be my guess (2" shorter than stock). If you have a stock windscreen, measure down 2" and place strip of tape on it. Then sit on the bike and you'll get a pretty good idea of where things would be. The Fastaire 10" is still a "highway" cut. I can't tell that there is any less wind deflection from the stock 12", but with the stock I had to look thruthe top of the screen(and looking thru plexi really bothers me at night). I'm 5'7" and I see overthe 10" screenwith no effort.

I have both the fastaire....got it off ebay for about $40 or so shipped IIRC. I also have the Clearview 8" dark grey tint with re-curve....and to tell you the truth, I like the Clearview much better. Its a better quality shield, and the re-curve does its job nicely....no more buffetting. I only have about $500 miles on my new Street Glide, but I have three shields for it already.....my next one will also be a Clearview.
