Im looking into a GPS for my 2004 Electra Glide Standard. I always take one weel long trip onthe bike and them usually a few smaller ones throught the year. I really like the way the HD quest looks and sits onthe fairing nice and neat. Is it worth the money? Should I buy a non HD? Im not big on the handle bar mounting options...it looks really cluttered. Has anybody mounted it on the fairing along with the three pouch fairing windshiled bag? Id like to hear who has what brand and how it works on the road along with ow youhave it mounted. Thaks all
I've got the Garmin zumo 550 also and love it. Mine is mounted using the mounting kit that comes with it on the bars and pushed back by the left speaker. Very nice unit. Sorry I don't have pics.
I have had the Garmin Street Pilot 3+ and the Street Pilot 2720 mounted on the handlebars of my Gold Wings for several years now. I use them on long trips and locally to find those interesting roads. The 2720 went with the Wing. I just ordered the 2730 with XM for the Ultra and will also have it mounted on the bars using the RAM mounting mounts. I will power it off of a splitter direct from the Battery with in line fuse. so when the ignition is on it will come on also. I will use a 3.5mm patch cord plug into the auxreceptacle on the HK face for sound for the XM and voice prompts. The touch screen works great and itdoes everything I want it to do at about half the price of the ZUMO. The 2730 is available from Darrel Goheen at TVNAV tvnav.com the onlydraw back is thatGarmin has not included the updated maps in2730 I am calling Garmin to complain and see if they will give me the upgrade if not it is available for$60.00.Hope this helps.
