There's really NO REAL DEALS from J&P. Even at Sturges they sell it by the book... They have a great Catalog to find what ya want then go shop the internet and you can ALWAYS beat there prices!!!
[sm=icon_quiet.gif] shhhhhhhh, they might quit sending us free wish books.
I agree that J & P is not cheap... but they have to pay for those catalogs somehow, LOL. I admit Ido the same thing. I send away for all the free catalogs I can get, look through them and buy whatever I want where ever the cheapest seller is...
I like J & P cycles, but they like so many other places have let corporate greed take over.
All businesses need to make a profit to survive.
But when does too much become too much?
When we all collectively let them know they're getting too high.
Write the owner a personal letter, (only takes a few minutes), let them know about the product you were looking at and that you bought it else where at a lower price.
I wouldn't say where thouhg (let them do the research)..
If everyone would do that, so might see some better pricing, one on one or overall.
And yep I get 4 catalogs a year from J&P. Those cost money to assemble print and mail.
That eats into their profits. Haven't bought from them in three years as I too am a comparision shopper. They could save quite a bit of money by sending only one or two a year with maybe only a supplemental one a couple times a year.
I don't know how J&P stays in business. You can always find the exact same item for 20-30% less with free shipping elsewhere. I just looked at a Scorpion helmet: J&P $134 + shipping, other vendor $99 + free shipping. I bought a Fuelpak for 25% less than advertised in J&P plus I got free shipping.
