I'd at least check the tensioners, may not have to change them just yet. If you do change them, I would change out the inner bearings too.
Yes, by all means change the bearings. This pic is of my friends 06 inner cam bearings with 26K miles. You can't see from the pic but the case was also ruined and is being replaced along with the crank and everything else in the bottom end. The funny thing is the dealer won't warranty the repair if he uses the Torrington B148's.

If you are that far into it go with the Andrews 26G cams and gear drive you won't regret it.... This is if you can spare about $800..... but I guarantee you will be pleased....

Heres a couple of links to give you an idea of cost of parts to convert to a gear drive cam setup.

Spent New Years day putting the brides RK back together, hersecondary tensioner was 80% gone and the Primary tensioner might have been 10% worn.
Dig out the service manual, brew up a pot of coffee, finda good radio station and have fun, it'll save you about $500 and you'll learn alot.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I hadn't really thought about the bearings before, but I guess I'll have to change them too. Looks like a trip up the road to J&P is in order to pick up some tools...I hate going there, I always spend too much money! It's like Toys-R-Us for adults.

Do your homework before spending too much on tools. You can buy an inner bearing remover/installer that works awesome for $85 or just rent tools. You don't need the tensioner unloader tool and pins either.

Someone posted on here once that it costs $170 at the dealer to get the tensioners replaced. Is that not a true price?

$170 for parts maybe. I think I read that the tensioner price doubled to $65 each plus gaskets, O rings, oil change and filter. plus 5 to 8 hours labor. Mine was $100 in parts at the old price using the oem push rods.
