Just went on the web and bought a tune trapper. Hope it works. I'll let ya know when I hopefully get it back together Sat. Getting the inner fairing painted. Will be ready for me then.

I have a tune trapper on my RG and it works great. Got the one with the short lead so I didn't haveto coil up a lot of extra wire.
I was admiring your front wheel. What is it and where did you get it? Thanks,
Cut mine to about 16", and works fine in the hills of Tennessee.
I wonder if there is a "sweet spot" for antenna length, or if reception is proportional to length. I tried a small rubberized antenna ($7 at Auto Zone), which worked fine but reception was not the best. I then cut my stock '07 antenna down to 32" (not including base), which isn't in the way as much and has excellent reception. I'd like to cut it down more, though.

Yes there is a sweet spot, 33 Meters! That is the amplitude of a FM wave, which is why most car/motorcycle antennas are 1 meter in length. They are 1/33 the wave length.

Actually, a 1/4 wave vertical antenna for the midpoint of the FM broadcast band would be 28.65 inches. "Amplitude" has nothing to do with antenna length. It's the length of the wave at the frequency you are looking for.
