I talked with the sales guy at the dealer yesterday and he said a lot of people have put Heritage bars on the RKC's with much happiness. Has anyone done this and how did it work out? I am also wondering if WILD 1 has an exact version of the Heritage bars only a "chubby" version so I can hide the wiring. I can't find the exact measurements of the stock Heritage bars.
Any help? Thanks
On the Harley website look up handlebars. Click on the link to handlebar measurement chart. It gives you the rise, pullback, width and part numbers for all Harley handlebars. I have the Heritage bars on my 07 RKC and like them much better than the stock bars. Luck
I will. One thing he did say is that the Heritage bars area direct bolt on with no mods required. That is a big plus.
That is correct. You will not have to change any wiring or cables. I have the Heritage bars on my King and love them. I would someday like to change them out to a set of chubby's or something to hide the wiring.
I would double check with the dealer that you spoke with. In your sig, you show a 08 RKC in your future. With the fly by wire, the Heritage bars may not be a direct replacement. Need to rework the bars for the internal wiring from the posts that I have read.
If the dealer confirms the direct swap, I am sure that several members, myself included would be very interested in knowing this.
I picked up my bike on Sat. and that's when I talked to him about it as I sat on it to see how they felt. Being 5'7" and arms unlike an ape, I feel like I am leaning forward to hold the bars. He then said they were a direct swap with no wiring mods needed. I sent out an email to Wild 1 and asked them if they had bars comparable to the design of the Heritage bars. I will post when I hear from them.
RK1121, what is the part number of the stock Heritage bars?
I want to know what you guys consider comfortable? I emailed Wild 1's and he replied with the the "508's" as the best for my height and ride preference. I am just wondering if these give you the "pushing a wheelbarrow" feeling, cause to me that hurts my wrists when riding and makes working the throttle a non-natural position, in my opinion. I likehaving my arms with my knuckles in the "in the wind" position as it feels more natural when riding and doesn't put a strain on the wrists over a long distance. I sat on a Heritage and that felt very natural and looked to be very comfortable. What's the overall feeling here? I want my hands higher and back a bit from stock. Sitting on my bike I feel like I am leaning forward to hold on. It sucks being "not so tall"!
Thanks for the help guys/gals
