Zumo in the cold

I bought a Zumo 550 for a Christmas present for myself. It works great for the car as well. The only problem is that the touch screen doesn't work when it's cold, I have to wait till it's warmed up before I can do anything with it. I'm in Canada, so when I say cold, I mean winter cold. I guess I won't have that problem on the bike, but it's a little annoying for in the car. Anyone experiencing this or do I pull out the warranty already?

Normal. Mine does that, too. Has done it since new (almost two years, now, I think).

Should also have mentioned that I recall reading a FAQ document somewhere that said this was normal. Seems it is inherent with all LCD-type screens according to the document.

Doesn't take much cold. Anything below 70 overnight & mine takes a while to warm up. 'Course my SP-III took about as long for the screen to warm up to full brightness...<shrug> The only two issues I have with the Zumo are the cold screen & the wierd top. Makes it difficult to put a good sun visor on it, but you don't absolutely need one, so........... All in all, the Zumo is about as good as you can get right now.
