There isn't a "does work" "doesn't work" answer. My 9.5" recurve shield worlks better than my 10" standard shield up to a point. At 70mph and above the 9.5" doesn't deflect the air as high as my 10".
I can tell a big difference, especially over the 8 inch Fastaire. I have the 9.5 Recurve. Yes it is a little taller in height over the 8 inch Fastaire but I think the Recurve is the difference. I also have a 15 inch HD shield and to be honest it doesn't do much better as far as protection than the 9.5 Recurve. Maybe on super windy days the 15 would do better but IMO the FLHX is butt ugly with that shield. I wish I had never bought it...but hey, I didn't know Harleyese at the time. And I actually like looking over the 9.5 shield. On another note I got the double decker done on my Sundowner seat from Mean City Cycles to sit me higher so I think the difference in height between the 8 inch Fastaire on the stock Sundowner and the modded seat and 9.5 Recurve may be about the same. I always felt like the Fastaire shield caused the wind to hit me straight in the face. I don't get that with the Recurve. Sorry for the long post. Your opinions may be varied.
After 7 weeks of waiting mine was delivered on Wensday. Only problem is that I left for Japan again on tuesday. the wife put the box next to my bike in the man cave.

Let me clarify, the difference in height would be comparable to the two 8 inch shields from both companies without the seat modified. The only stock shield I had was a 4 inch and everyone knows they pretty much suck.
I've heard a lot about the Clearview. I've been think about getting one for my Roadglide. I would like to add a couple of inches to the stock height.
Does anyone know what the stock height on an 07 Roadglide is? Is the re-curve worth the extra money?
I will be interested how you like th 9.5" with recure. I purchased the 8" with recure and I like very much but I do have some buffeting of my head when I wear a 1/2 helmet, I also get rain in my face when it rains.
