the 08 ecm is a complete different animal compare to the 07's.the thundermax auto tune is a very popular unit and still they have not adventure to release the new unit for the 08's for the same reason.they are still working on it.my 07 street glide has a thundermax auto tune unit and believe me it hauls *** big time.the 08 touring bikes has the miles till empty feature and also the alarms codes etc are also different from the previous years.also the pc unit does away with the o2's and this may trigger the ecm to run very rich or to try to shot down the bike.(this is just speculation from my part).talk to the power commander technical line and express your concerns and ask lots of questions about the 08's and known problems or incomparabilities with the unit.i really hope your bike gets to run right.there is no sicker fealling in this world than knowing your scoot is not running up to snuff.
At least you can ride the bike in stock form, and that ain't all bad!!
As toyour comments about Jamie, one of the reasons I went with his setup was because of all the positive things I read about him on this forum. I like doing business with knowledgeable people who will stand behind their products and will go the extra mile for their customers.
From whatI have discovered so far......NO add on fuel injection module works correctly on the '08's with drive by wire.
Dyno operators who sell these devices are discovering they can't get them to perform like the 07's and earlier models.....It's not the dyno guys, it's the '08 ECM's and the fact the modules just ain't able to totally override the '08 factory ECM's yet and may not ever be able too.
I'm thinking the best bet for guys with '08's is to wait fora wide band autotune Thundermax to hit the street or to retrofit to '07 ECM'sand throttle cables n throttlebody......That's right, I said retrofit to '07 ECM and throttle cables and throttlebody.

I spoke to Jamie, yesterday evening. He received the unit I sent back and had a chance to run it on a bike on the dyno. He indicated that he could not duplicate the performance issues I experienced however noted that the PC got extremely hot while performing his test which hesaid hehas never seen before. On day one of my issue, I remembered it being rather warm when I removed it, so that may explain why it acted up after putting a few miles on it. I think he was gonnarun it some more to see if he could experience a failure. Jamie will be sending my replacement unit out today and should be here by the weekend. Should get a chance to install it and put a few miles on. It's suppose to be extremely cold here in the Southeast through the weekend, as long as it's dry, I'll get some miles on and report.
I have the Power Commander installed on my 08 Touring and could not ask for better results. The bike runs flawlessly and throttle response is excellent.
