If it's going to be stored for more than a couple of weeks you should add some sta-bil to the tank and run the motor long enough to get the treated gas into the entire fuel system.

Turn the bike off and it should last[8D]

Just kidding, put stabilizer in there and run it for a bit to get it through the lines.

Some say a few weeks, others a few months, either way, Sta-Bil is cheap and has no harmful effects.

It should be O K for the winter, if you're worried just put in some StaBil gas stabilizer.
I had some two year old gas in a generator and it started and ran fine. I had drained the carb though.

With "modern" gas, ah don't trust it past 30 days w/o fuel treatment.

I've never put any kind of stabilizer in my bike, but I run my bike for about 15 minutes every 2to3 weeks in the winter.

Probably can get by without fuel stabilizer; but, sta-bil is cheap insurance if it is going to sit more than a couple of weeks. I personally don't like running the engine periodically through the winter. The longer the bike runs the more fuel it burns out of the tank. The less fuel in the tank, the more room for air and condensation. Keep the tank full to limit the amount of air in the tank until you can ride it and refill it on a regular basis.

Depends on how far you gonna ride it - how big is your garage?[sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Seriously, in a heated garage, I wouldn't worry about it. Think of it this way- how long have you left your car set out in bad weather without being started, such as when you are on vacation or other times? Hell, There have been times I have not started my truck for 3 to 4 weeks at a time in near zero weather and the fuel is just fine. No difference for a bike. Now if your gonna let it sit for a year or better, then I would do something to stabilize the fuel. Also, in a heated garage you are not getting temp changes, so you wont get condensation. I do not stabilize the fuel in my lawn mowers, snowblower, leaf blower, power washer, chain saw, edger lawn mower, car, truck or anything else, and have never had one fail to start due to fuel issues, or run poor due to breakdown of the fuel. I sometimes think we treat our bikes as though they are extremely fragile, they are not.

i dropped fitch fuel catalyst in for this reason.

solid theory for gas stabilazation.
